Titanium engagement rings

People who are drawn to titanium engagement rings or wedding bands may prefer a more industrial or modern look. Although it is a white metal it does have a slightly different appearance than the different carat gold’s, palladium and platinum. Most people feel that it has a slightly darker or blackish cast to its overall appearance.

One advantage of titanium is that it costs much less than the more customary precious metals that people use in the construction of fine jewelry. It also seems to wear well in rings. Relative to gold and platinum, it is very lightweight, which some people consider to be a benefit.

It can be repolished from time to time like gold, silver and platinum. A significant disadvantage is that titanium engagement rings cannot be resized. People should expect that their rings will need to be resized at some point in their life, and they may need to resize more often. The other more commonly used metals can all be resized.

The interest in titanium is more recent and should not be regarded as a traditional metal for engagement rings and wedding bands. It is much more common as a metal that is used for men’s wedding bands, rather than for ladies engagement rings.
